Yeah, Ron Paul has introduced the American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 (via Eric Garris). Its purpose:

The American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 is intended to restore the Constitution’s checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

Great. Huzzah. Contact your representatives to voice your support, etc.

I suppose it’s a nice gesture, but it won’t pass. Or if it does, the inevitable veto surely won’t be overridden. I don’t suppose it’ll even get to the point of being voted on. I’d love to be wrong about all that, but I’m not. If it does get to be voted on, I suppose it’ll be interesting to see who’s willing to vote for it.
